What if I Can't Make this Group?

Groups will be ran twice a year and will be held on different days/times depending on current need to allow access for as many people as possible. Group sizes are small to allow each participant space to interact. While the therapy group coming this Spring 2026 is a skills based group, support groups for the chronic illness community will open up in the future as well so please fill out the google form if you want to stay informed. The Google Form also allows you to give input on days/times of future groups and future group session topics!

Why Consider Joining a Group?

While not individual counseling, skills groups and support groups can propel us further along in our individual growth and healing by allowing us to gain further insight into ourselves, feel less alone, and add to our existing tool box of strategies and skills. Groups are a great compliment to the work you are already doing in individual therapy, while also being a great way to expand your perspective on your past experiences and growth.

ACT, also known as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, is an action-oriented approach to mental health that combines facets from both traditional talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help one stop avoiding, denying or minimizing their emotions and experiences and learn instead how to move forward towards healing while accepting their emotions as insights not roadblocks. In fact, ACT skills in the group setting focuses on developing acceptance through normalization of emotions, identifying personal values, and practicing self-observance and psychological flexibility to promote healing and resolve distress.
