As a Texas Board Certified counselor, Brittany Attwood (LPC) has been extensively trained in working with the many layers and complexities of trauma, as well as, other mental health issues. Being a therapist with lived experience of physical disability, she recognizes how the many facets of what makes us human can impact how we process and heal from the struggles we face–those of both the past and present. At Rise Counseling and Coaching, we believe every person deserves quality and genuine therapeutic support in rising from life’s challenges.
Brittany offers online affordable counseling (also known as mental health therapy) for any Texan six years and older. You can expect her to start with an intake session focused on gathering details about your unique life experiences & pain points. Next, she will use that information to inform and shape the personalized treatment plan and therapy goals that address those pain points. Then, the magic happens: in an authentic and relational therapy space, you begin to let the emotional weights go, gain new tools, and start to uncover a more healed and empowered self! You deserve to feel safe and heard as you receive the help and hope you are looking for now--whether that is done through EMDR therapy or another modality Brittany is well versed in.
While Brittany has been trained to treat many different concerns, various traumas and chronic illness are her two greatest clinical passions! Her integrative approach to therapy considers, and honors, your full identity. She deeply believes that people are inherently diverse, and as such, need diverse solutions and care. To address all aspects of a client's concern, she most often utilize an approach that includes: Person-Centered Therapy, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, Multi-Cultural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). She also is specialty trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other commonly used evidence based treatments for trauma and PTSD recovery.
Brittany knows healing is complex, and you've done such a great job getting yourself to this point, but you don’t have to bear it all alone anymore. Brittany says that counseling is her life's work, and she wants to help you lighten your load now. She offers her expertise via online therapy (Telehealth) and has weekday and evening availability to accommodate those with even the busiest of schedules.
